Original filenames are `Solarsystemscope texture 2k [name].jpg`, with names: sun, mercury, venus atmosphere, earth daymap, mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus, neptune, earth clouds.

Adaptations: resized from 2048×1024 to 768×384 and JPEG compressed; the cloud map is further reduced to 512×256 grayscale. Renderer adds spherical projection, illustrative lighting and Earth cloud blending. Saturn rings are procedural. Original colors are enhanced; some gaps in the source maps contain reconstructed terrain. These are visualization assets, not live observations.

The Earth interior explorer additionally uses `earth-daymap-2k.jpg`, the unmodified 2048×1024 day map downloaded from https://www.solarsystemscope.com/textures/download/2k_earth_daymap.jpg on November 3, 2026. Same author and CC BY 4.0 license. No other planet textures were replaced.
